What a weekend!

This past weekend I attended the Material Middle Ages Conference at UC Berkeley (see here for the official discussion).

This was a really exciting few days. I was able to extend my network a bit which is desperately needed. Perhaps best of all though was getting to give a copy of my beast of a thesis [really folks- its large] to my former early medieval professor, Dr Geoffrey Koziol. That was pretty epic. He remembered me as the undergrad who took over the viking discussions and used medieval Norse. It was fantastic to be able to say I’d stuck with it and anthropology in the way we’d discussed all those years ago and gone on to earn postgraduate degrees.
